Duke University sponsors the Duke Talent Search Program which recognizes 7th grade students in seventeen southern states who score well on their state assessment test. The students are asked to take the ACT or SAT test. We had four students to take one of the tests. They are Oscar Almazan, Ana Gallegos, Kalil Johnson-Washington and Alfredo Perez. Alfredo Perez scored high enough for recognition at the State Recognition Ceremonies. The ceremonies are usually held in College State and Austin. Also, Perez and Almazan scored high enough to qualify for a Summer Academy.

A new website for parents is now available to complement Cscope, our recently adopted curriculum resource. This is accessible at www.cscope.us/parentportal . The website provides information on core subject lesson content, and some useful resources to allow parents to help their child. No registration or log-in is required.
